I worked with the authors of the Digital Technologies for Well-being at Work - Tensions, Opportunities and Future Directions report to design a beautiful, engaging and accessible report that is easily understood and looks fantastic.
I was approached by the authors (from the University of Leicester and The Open University) once the written report was at 95% completion, the objective was to turn a Microsoft Word document into a PDF that could be shared, easily read and engaging at a glance. This PDF would be the legacy of the research and would be presented to stakeholders, funders of the research and live forever on the web!
In order to get this right, we had initial discussions around the research, what led to it and found other reports that were inspirational so that I could:
- create a design direction
- create a brand pallet
- choose type faces and illustrative styles
- source images
I used Adobe Illustrator to craft designs and created the PDF in Adobe InDesign, using shareable links to work collaboratively and iterate on each design.
The outcome looks great and the research team were absolutely thrilled with the result!
